Advanced High School Accounting (AICPA APBP)

NC State only grants course credit for the Accounting Program for Building the Profession: Advanced High School Accounting (AICPA APBP) for students who have met the requirements listed below. This policy is subject to change as NC State conducts periodic reviews of all placement and credit policies. You should contact your academic advisor or department with specific questions about course credit.

AICPA APBP exam scores will not be used in the application review process, but you may receive credit towards your degree once enrolled.

Advanced High School Accounting

  • Score: 80+
  • Credit: 3 hours credit for ACC 210

In order to receive credit:

  1. Students must successfully complete the AICPA’s Accounting Program for Building the Profession: Advanced High School Accounting (“AICPA APBP”).
  2. Students who have met the first requirement must take the AICPA-owned qualifying examination that will be administered by their high school.
  3. Students must receive a score of 80 or better on the qualifying examination for the university to count the course for credit.  

Students who have met all three previous requirements will request the AICPA to submit their score to the university to the attention of the University Registrar at studentservices@ncsu.edu or by mail at:
