Our final #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth spotlight is on Issac Evans, a member of #NCState27 majoring in technology, engineering and design with a concentration in graphic communications.
Issac is a part of Phi Sigma Nu American Indian Fraternity Inc., Miskwà Waya, Native American Student Association, and American Indian Science and Engineering Society.

Meet Daniela Santibañez (she/her/hers), an M.S. operations research student expected to graduate in May 2026. Daniela, who recently earned her B.S. in industrial engineering in May 2024, shares her journey as a proud Mexican-American at @ncstate.

From mentoring in the CAMINOS pre-college program to finding support in @shpencsu (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) and WMEP (Women and Minority Engineering Program), Daniela has built a second home at NC State, growing academically, professionally and personally. Her story is a testament to the power of community and cultural pride.
It’s an honor to celebrate #LatinxHeritageMonth and the amazing contributions of students like Daniela within the #NCSULatinx community!

Ashley Scott has found a strong sense of community at NC State through her involvement across campus. As a student interested in media and journalism, Ashley connects with and learns from others through organizations such as the Black Students Board, Public Relations Student Society of America and Fusion Dance Crew. In her role as a student creator with University Communications and Marketing, she has benefited from mentorship and meaningful connections that have expanded her professional network and access to opportunities.

Gabbie Sadowski discovered a unique way to support her peers through her role as a group fitness instructor at the NC State Wellness and Recreation Center. By leading classes with Wellness and Recreation, Gabbie creates a welcoming space where students can step away from busy schedules, recharge and focus on their well-being. Teaching group fitness has strengthened her leadership, communication and time-management skills, while also giving her hands-on experience and lifelong knowledge she can carry beyond graduation.

Blake Anderson is part of a long-standing NC State tradition as a member of the cheer team, supporting Wolfpack spirit at athletic events and celebrating milestones across the university. From football games to championship victories and campus-wide moments, cheer plays an essential role in bringing the NC State community together. Through the team, Blake has developed discipline, resilience and trust in strong technique. These are skills that carry over from demanding cheer routines to academic challenges. Being part of cheer allows Blake to contribute to the traditions that define NC State while growing both personally and as a student.
