Volunteer Opportunities

As a Pack Partner, you may assist in any of the following activities:
- Representing NC State at college fairs
- Contacting accepted students to NC State
- Assist with planning Senior Send-offs
- Scholarship presentations
- Recruitment Receptions
college fairs
Each year the Undergraduate Admissions Staff attends recruitment fairs for prospective students and their families. Due to the limited number of staff members, we rely heavily on Pack Partners to attend recruitment functions in areas outside of the state.
Pack Partners will provide information about NC State and answer questions from students or parents. We provide everything you need, including admissions information and training materials, to ensure you are prepared for the event.
contacting accepted students
Congratulate students in your area who have been accepted to NC State University by phone, mail or email. The goal is for alumni to share their enthusiasm for NC State University, answer any remaining questions that the students may have and provide a contact in the immediate geographic areas.
senior send-offs
The Alumni Association sponsors Senior Send-offs, which recognize students committed to attend NC State University. Planned by alumni in the community in conjunction with the Alumni Association, the Send-offs welcome incoming students and their parents into the NC State family.
scholarship presentations
Attend end of year awards ceremonies at local schools in your area to present recognition awards to NC State scholarship recipients.
recruitment receptions
Recruitment receptions are designed to inform prospective students about NC State University in a more personalized setting. Students and their parents receive informational materials and an admissions counselor provides a brief overview of the application process.
By attending a recruitment reception, you will have the opportunity to interact with prospective students and their families. As an alumni representative you may also serve as a reception speaker where you can share your personal NC State story. Both opportunities will provide you a chance to answer specific questions about the Wolfpack experience.
time commitment
The average commitment is approximately ten hours a year. This can vary depending on the number of scheduled events in your area and your availability.
