Applications received and completed after the February 1 deadline will be considered on the basis of space availability.
Complete applications must be submitted by 5pm and required materials postmarked by the deadline in order to receive an admission decision on time. If you miss a deadline, your application will be reviewed in the next notification period.
* Scores from the October 2008 SAT exam will arrive in time for Early Action applicants. However, the October ACT Plus Writing test results will not arrive in time to meet the November 1 Early Action deadline. Please note, NC State Admissions accepts only electronically submitted test scores.
Freshmen applying for spring admission (domestic)
Application Deadline: November 1.
Decisions are posted as files are completed and applications are reviewed. We begin reviewing applications on October 15.
Note: Freshman applicants who were denied on their initial application for admission should complete 30 hours of transferable credits at another school before reapplying as a transfer student. If you were denied fall admission and apply again for the spring semester without having improved your academic credentials, your application will likely be denied.
College of Design - Freshman and transfer students (domestic and international)
The College of Design accepts freshman and transfer applicants for the fall semester only.
November 1 to be considered for merit-based scholarships on campus (applies only to freshman applicants)
December 1 general deadline for freshman and transfer.
You will be notified January 15 if your application is still under review for the College of Design, or is now being considered for your second choice major in a different college at NC State. Decision will be announced on March 15.
