Wolfpack Student Media
Post by Sharon Nye
Everyday I go through my normal morning routine—I get up at 6:45, eat breakfast, pack my backpack, and head to the bus stop. When the bus pulls up the Belltower I hop off and grab the Technician, NC State’s very own student led newspaper. For most students, reading the Technician and working on the Sudoku puzzle has become part of their daily routine. The Technician highlights the daily going-ons around campus and around Raleigh; students are responsible for writing, editing, and designing the Technician on a daily basis. If you get the chance to come visit campus I highly recommend picking up a copy of the Technician, and if you can’t make it to campus you can look at the Technician online to check out many of the articles.
The typical college campus is designed to look and function like a miniature version of our society—At NC State we have our own bus system, our own health provider, and our own student government to name a few. Another important piece of our campus is the student led media; there are a lot of different departments under the title Student Media including the Agromeck, the Nubian Message, the Technician, the Windhover, WKNC 88.1 FM, and Wolf TV.
One part of life as a student that I am really looking forward to is having my Senior portrait in the Agromeck. One of the perks of being in the yearbook is that you have the opportunity to receive one of a thousand free yearbooks as a result of the student fee’s we pay each year. The Agromeck is the official yearbook of North Carolina State University and is published yearly as it has been since 1903. The name ‘the Agromeck’ comes from NC State’s original name, North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts.
Student Media is a great way for students to get involved and stay up-to-date with what is going on around campus. There are several part-time positions available for students in all the different forms of media. I have several friends who work for the newspaper and the yearbook, and they all agree that it is a great job to have as a student. If you have an interest in student media you can keep an eye on the student media website for job opportunities when you get to campus.

How will i pay for the admission and when will i get it.?
Thanks so much for your time.
This reminds me of my college life, college life can be tough specially if you are far from your family and it can also be fun if you have the right friends around.
The university is great enough to develop anybody’s skills.
Yearbooks and student led newspapers are really a interesting way to know about college campus, daily updates and everything.
