Wolfpack Abroad
Post by Sharon Nye
One of the greatest benefits of going to a school as big as NC State is all of the thousands of opportunities given to NC State students in North Carolina, the United States, and the World.
This awesome opportunity I’ve had to complete my internship outside of North Carolina is not unique to my NC State experience. NC State does a great job at providing opportunities for students like studying abroad, alternative spring breaks, and internship experiences built into many degree programs. In this past year alone, I’ve had at least a handful of friends who have had amazing academic experiences all over the world. NC State is always looking for new, cutting edge opportunities for our students so that we are prepared to push the limit and take chances after we graduate.
If there was one thing I wish I had done during my time as a student, it would have been to study abroad. I did travel to Europe the summer before my freshman year, but it would have been even more life changing to have been a college student taking courses in such a different environment. The friends I have who did take the opportunity to travel
during their college careers all came back with a new perspective of how the world works, and a new appreciation for the different cultures they experienced. All of these experiences contribute to the amazing classroom environments that we all know and love. Every semester the Study Abroad Office at NC State holds a study abroad fair where students can “shop around” for different programs. I encourage you to check out the study abroad website and find a program that would fit for you!
