Have a Good Summer!
Post by Jimmy Schiemann
I write today, on a beautiful Raleigh afternoon, sunny and around 75F and as of 2:45 EST, I officially finished all my classes for this semester! You may wonder, why am I then sitting in a little room, with a window not near enough to enjoy the sun and my partial freedom from classes and homework? There are two answers for this question.
- The end of classes, although much enjoyed, leads to a time of the year, not particularly nice for a college student taking 16+ credits this semester: FINALS.
Finals for me begin on May 3rd at the beautiful early morning time 8AM, almost before the sunrise…and this marathon, parade of exams, deadlines, study sessions, long nights (and days) in the DH Hill Library and of course massive consumption of coffee (the baristas at our library’s coffee shop know my typical choice by heart: Double shot Espresso), this intense quest will last in my case till May 10th. After this, instead of bed sheets, my bed will probably be covered by study and review sheets…
There is no better satisfaction, however, to finally greet the sun again, and welcome sleep back into my life, knowing that I did my best in Finals and this will be reflected into my semester grades.
- The second reason why I am not enjoying my temporary freedom, is that I wanted to publish one last blog this semester before beginning my social-hibernation and extreme study mode. I hoped you enjoyed my stories, from the race against the Wolf Line bus, to sports events or simply my tales about everyday life at NC State
I will return to this Blog next semester (August 2012) after my summer vacations.
Meanwhile, GO PACK!

Hope you have a great summer too and congratulations on completing the semester.
