Career Fairs

Post by Marcus Spruill

No matter what you think you want to major in, there is a career fair for you. A career fair is a chance to take your resume to potential employers and give them the opportunity to review it. This will give you and the representative a chance to talk and see what they are looking for and whether you may have that ability or skill set. Many times the company may like what they see and decide to offer you the chance to interview for a potential internship. This is the main reason why it is always beneficial to begin building your resume right away, and cater it towards what you would like to do after graduation. That will give you a higher probability of being chosen for an interview.

There are many different career fairs you can participate in throughout your duration at NC State. For example, there is the Poole College of Management fair for those students looking for jobs and internships in a business position, Engineering fair, the Health career expo, and many more. Another good thing about career fairs is that they do not all take place on our campus and are not only restricted to NC State students. Although many are held in the McKimmon Center, there are some at Meredith College, and also at Peace College. This gives students a chance to visit other schools and meet people from other schools. Our new and improved Career Development Center website has all the information about career fairs, and many other ways to get job experience. It never hurts to plan ahead.
